This truly is a quirky cottage, perched (and we mean perched) on top of a cliff with the front door only a couple of metres from the edge. Casa Marinero offers 180 degree views of the stunning coastline and the sweep of the Start Point lighthouse illuminates the sea at night. Lovely though it is, this terraced cottage is only suitable for reasonably fit adults as it is a steep climb up from the car park. The open plan living-room has been furnished with a seaside theme, painted wood panelling, deep leather sofas and simple pastel colours everywhere. The bathroom is on the ground floor, upstairs are two pretty bedrooms and there is a small patio to the rear. An early morning cuppa could be enjoyed whilst sitting on the bench by the front door which offers marvellous views (see photograph – terracotta house second in from the left), and for walkers, the coastal path runs behind the cottage. Alternatively the lovely towns of Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are just a short drive.
